Friday (day of abstinence)

Prayer: Day 5

Two semi-related bits of Scriptures today:

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)
“I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (John 17:20)

Intentions: Pray blessings on anyone you dislike, and for the conversion of heart for those who persecute the Church from within and without; pray for unity within the Church, within Christendom, and for the whole world to be united under Christ.

Action: Treat with respect anyone who treats you unkindly, and offer up the suffering they inflict on you for the expiation of their sinful actions. Strive to learn the orthodox voice of the Church (Through the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Catholic Answers is also a good resource), that you may strengthen your communion with the Magisterium of the Universal Church, which is led by the Holy Spirit.
