Modesty and friendship

I was posting on a forum thread regarding modesty in women’s dress today, and I sensed that perhaps we like to play the blame game in this area – is it the girls who have to be responsible in dress, or is it the guys who have to control their hormones? I would think it’s both. It’s about, as I said there, “cooperating in our mutual journey toward greater love and holiness, toward becoming Saints”. It’s important for guys to respect and value the girls as human beings of a complementary nature (and not as tools or objects of their self-fulfillment), and the girls to assist them for the benefit of both parties, so that there can be much greater trust and therefore friendship. If only the society understood how fantastic a deep platonic love can be between the sexes!
